When Your Child is Sick
If your child is sick and needs to stay home from school, please call me at 732.531.0480 ext. 11 to report his or her absence.
If your child becomes sick at school, I will call you to make arrangements for the child to be picked up. Please make sure that your emergency contact information is up to date so that your child can rest comfortably at home until he or she feels better.
Please do not send your child to school
when he or she is not feeling well.
If your child complains of fever, cough, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, runny nose, etc. you are advised to keep him or her at home from school until he or she is feeling better and is WITHOUT A FEVER FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS. Students who return to school before they are completely well often have relapses of their illnesses or become sick with another illness. Additionally, if they come back to school too soon, their illnesses can be spread throughout the school.
Your cooperation in keeping sick children out of school is greatly appreciated, and will help us to keep Deal School students, faculty, and staff healthy.
